Pediatric Services
THE MEDICAL TEAM provides a wide range of skilled services -- primarily skilled nursing care -- to infants and pediatric clients. Diagnoses range from apnea of prematurity, birth anomalies, infections, transplant recipients, wounds, ventilator dependent, and failure to thrive with complications. Skilled nursing services include observation and assessment, teaching and training, venipunctures, administration of IV medications, and wound care.
We also provide extended hours nursing for pediatric clients with disabilities who qualify under the Louisiana Medicaid benefit.
Our Service Area: We serve the entire New Orleans metropolitan area and all or a portion of the following parishes: Ascension, Jefferson, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa.
Community Involvement: TMT provides educational programs on various health topics to senior citizens in senior residential facilities, and we participate in several health fairs within the community. We also have employees on staff who are involved with local chapters of the American Heart Association and the Oncology Nursing Society. The agency is a member of the Home Care Association of Louisiana.
About Metairie: Metairie is the closest suburb of New Orleans -- the home of Mardi Gras, the French Quarter, the Superdome and beignets. Located on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Metairie is situated between the cities of New Orleans and Kenner, LA. Our Service Area: Our agencies provide services in all or portions of Bexar, Atacosca, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Guadalupe, Kerr, Medina and Wilson counties. Additionally, Med Team Inc. also serves Gonzalez, Karnes and Dewitt counties.
Community Involvement: Our staff members are active in several professional and community organizations including the Texas Diabetes Institute Advisory Council, Bexar Senior Advisory Board (Area Agency on Aging), Hispanic Medical Professionals Organization and the Texas Association for Home Care (TAHC).
Each year, the agency actively participates in the San Fernando Cathedral Health and Safety Fair and helps recruit vendors to provide screenings for lung capacity, mammograms, prostrate evaluations, hearing tests, cholesterol and blood glucose levels.
